Item 8 - Options for Marine Drive and Pound Road Intersection (File: 1805-01)
RECOMMENDED:
THAT
1. Staff continue discussions with the Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure to advance a Low Level Road alignment that provides Pound Road with a direct connection, as set out in Option 5 of the report dated June 18, 2014 from the Transportation Engineer;
2. In the interim, no infrastructure changes be made to the intersection of Marine Drive and Pound Road, except to prevent illegal westbound left turns; and
3. Signage be improved to encourage access to facilities in Ambleside Park from 13th Street and Argyle Avenue, as set out in Option 1 of the report dated June 18, 2014 from the Transportation Engineer.

NOTE: Each reading of an Official Community Plan bylaw must receive an affirmative vote of a majority of all Council members (4 members) in order to proceed (Local Government Act, s. 882).
The proposed bylaws received first reading at the May 26, 2014 regular Council meeting, were the subject of a public hearing held and closed on June 16, 2014, and received second and third reading at the July 7, 2014 regular Council meeting. As the public hearing has closed Council is not permitted to receive any further submissions regarding the proposed bylaws.
